For once, a non WoW entry from me!

I bought a Wii over a year ago.  It was a happy day.  My girlfriend and I scooped it up, one of five remaining consoles, and purchased it with Wii Play and Metroid Prime.  We played the shit out of it for awhile.  I got a few more games for it, all of them fun.

Then I got the Xbox 360.

I won’t lie to you, I mostly bought it for Halo 3.  I adore the game, the story, the online play.  I also knew that every game coming out in the future that I was at all interested in was for the 360, so it was a good purchase in the long run.  And with Netflix, HD-capable games, Rock Band (and it’s DLC), I haven’t been sorry once for the purchase.  Meanwhile, my Wii gathers dust, except when my girlfriend Shannon dusts it off to do a little Wiifit (which she loves).

The Wii should be doing better.  If you’ve played any first person shooters on this thing, it far surpases any sort of controller on the 360.  Metroid Prime 3 was INCREDIBLE.  But for some reason, the Wii has decided to not be a console, but instead a toy.

Wii?  Sit down a minute.  Let’s talk this out.  I have a few ideas to make you a better system.

In two weeks, The Lunar Festival will be here, a holiday hosted by the Druids of Azeroth to celebrate the new year (or the Earth Chinese New Year).  It’s a fun holiday with a lot of cool trinkets and activities, but that’s not why I’m talking about it.  YES, IT’S ACHIEVEMENT TIME!

The holiday lasts a hell of a long time – from January 24th to February 12th.  There are quite a few achievements you’re going to have to take care of to accomplish this holiday’s meta-achievement “To Honor One’s Elders.”  Finishing this off awards you the title “Elder [insert name here]” and one step closer to getting that sweet Proto-drake flying mount.  Well what are you waiting for? Let’s get started!

As per usual, I’ll be listing off the easier achievements to accomplish, followed by the more difficult ones to finish off.

Hey guys, the interwebs were hit today with some more screenshots for the first DLC to be released for Fallout 3.  The release is called Operation Anchorage.  The premise is to win back Alaska from the communist Chinese invaders.  If you didn’t get a chance to see the first round of screenshots, get pumped they look fantastic.  Destructoid has got three more here, including some ninja looking gear.  While I decided to go bruiser/tank build, this is some tasty loot for all you sneaks out there.  This is set to be released this month!

Ok thats all for now!  On a more personal note, I had hand surgery yesterday which is going to sideline me from 360 for a little while.  This is depressing news but at least I have perks and a nice fluffy couch to catch up on movies and flash games!
