Busy day here at the nest, between regular Thursday woes and managing a staff of 3 (ha ha ha) I have a lot on my plate. None more important then this interview at IGN which reveals some of the details to the previously reported Fallout 3 downloadable content. There’s actually a lot of good stuff in there, which isn’t suprising considering how upfront all the development blogs were during the original production of F3. The meat of the article discusses the first DLC to be announced, Operation Anchorage.

The Chinese red army is everywhere, and the player will first have to secure the surrounding mountain side and then fight their way into the Chinese base. The player will have to use a lot of their standard combat skills, along with several new tools that will only be available in the downloadable content. These include interactive Strike Teams under the player’s command and unique armor, weapons, and other exotic gadgets.

That sounds pretty fucking fun, if you ask me. Granted I haven’t touched the game since the box went down, but you can be sure I will be slinging those Microsoft points to download this bad boy. This is also something to look forward to:

It will include new weapons, armor and achievements! It’s full of top-secret technology used by both sides during the war, which the player will of course be able to use throughout the main game as well.

Other morsels revealed about the other two DLCs: Level cap removed and you can continue playing after the game ends in the Broken Steel DLC, while the Pit DLC takes place in Pittsburgh. These are some delicious details and I for one can’t wait to get my xbox back, finish the freaking game, and then save up the 800 points to buy Operation Anchorage.

Quickly, and I just got a project to work on so I can’t go into detail, but check out Game On’s article about how Spore was the #1 pirated game in 2008. Of course, Spore is the game that only allowed you to install it on five computers, so the debate rages on and the piracy issue just got a little more fuel to the fire. There are some interesting points in the article though, and should prove to be a good read if you are at all interested in the piracy issues of our little industry here.

That’s all for now, I have to get back to the grind…

Another quickie

Just a another tidbit today, its busy here and I am not working tomorrow so a lot of loose ends to tie up…

Stumbled upon this today in my general web cruising (work related, sort of) and its defiantely my two worlds colliding. I’m not sure if I’m ripping this off of 3 other blogs or what but the important thing is that it’s a pretty sweet interview with one of the OG’s at EA He recently left EA to go to Kleiner Perkins (Big Swinging Dick of the Private Equity/VC world) and shares some cool insights in the future of gaming and what led to his decision. Basically, he’s my idol.

More tomorrow as I have some free time in the morning with my day off…

Hi buddies and pals and readers and breeders

Hope everyone had a productive and fun monday and is gearing up for another spectaculer Tuesday. Ah who am I kidding its rainy and grey and I have a boat load of work to do so a quick little update to get us all started here this morning. Office Fans will be happy to see this coming through the pipeline. I’m skeptical but nevertheless will add that to the DVR queue, because, well, Hall High Graduate Michael Shur and the rest of the Office team are probably the funniest writing group on television (not including the Black/Showalter combo of the defunct MTV’s the State.)

As you all know, I am huge Fallout fan (preview still pending, trust) and here’s a nice little interview with the creaters of Oblivion.

Thats all for the morning, I have a lot to do today so I’ll try to get you something about lunchtime. Until then…
