Ok so this is a very busy Friday afternoon, and I know you love the quick posts, so here’s one more little tidbit for the blogosphere before the long weekend: BioWare announced a new playable planet for their upcoming MMO, The Old Republic. Check out their post here for the details. The planet is called Hutta, and is the homeworld for the Hutts. If you don’t know what a Hutt is, chances are you aren’t going to be playing this game. But if you do, check out the screens, they look really cool. Get excited for this one…

If that wasn’t enough, the good people over at Loot-Ninja have put together the just released God of War 3 screenshots really nicely, so I thought I would link to those as a special added bonus since it’s almost qutting time. This game looks absolutely amazing, and is probably the reason why I’ll have to finally buy a PS3. Have a great weekend everyone, look for big things in the next week at The Bird Nest. There will be a few exciting announcements for all!

For Star Wars fans out there, and my guess is that you probably like Star Wars, there has to be one thing more disappointing then George Lucas’s dialogue. Rewatch any scene with Hayden Christensen or Jar Jar if you need any example. But I’m not talking about bad acting or cheesy lines, I’m talking about the lack of quality games out there for Star Wars fans. There’s been a lot of Lucasarts games. Sure, Shadows of the Empire rocked. So did Rebel Assault I and II, and Tie Fighter. And I’ll definitely give you Knights of the Old Republic (I and II) and The Jedi Knight Series. But really, what have you done for me lately, Lucasarts? Other then KOTOR (which was mostly Bioware), I am struggling to think of any recent Star Wars game that truely fulfilled its potential. I’m look at you, The Force Unleashed…

The thing is, I don’t want to spend any more time talking about the ways that Lucasarts has let me down. I’d much rather remain optomistic about the future, and as you may or may not have heard, the future was announced on Oct. 21, 2008. I am referring, to of course, the Massive Multiplayer Role Playing Game based in the Star Wars Universe. Wait a minute!?!?! Didn’t they already do this? Wasn’t it called Galaxies? Well that game was somewhere in between the Matrix Online and my asshole. Seriously. It was awful. I don’t even want to talk about how bad that game was because it makes me sad, angry, and disappointed all at the same time. That’s all I have to say about that.

Instead, lets start talking about Star Wars: The Old Republic.
More on this on the other side
